Description

This bold & buttery Cuban garlic bread sandwich is everything you love in one melty, crispy bite. Ingredients

8 slices brioche or soft sandwich bread

8 slices Swiss cheese

8 slices smoked or honey ham

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (optional)

1 tablespoon olive oil (for pan)


Instructions

1. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and smoked paprika to make the garlic butter.

2. Spread Dijon mustard on the inside of each bread slice (if using).

3. Layer each sandwich with 2 slices of ham and 2 slices of Swiss cheese, then close.

4. Generously spread the garlic butter on the outsides of each sandwich slice.

5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-low heat.

6. Toast the sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing slightly with a spatula, until golden and the cheese is melted.

7. Let sandwiches rest for 1 minute before slicing.

8. Garnish with extra parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Use a nonstick skillet or cast iron for best sear.

To make it spicier, add a pinch of chili flakes to the garlic butter.

Leftovers reheat best in a toaster oven or skillet.
