Ingredients

1 bag (28 oz) frozen thick-cut fries

1 ½ cups cooked shredded chicken

6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

1 cup cheese curds (or cubed mozzarella)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup milk

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons flour

1 ½ cups brown gravy

2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 425°F and bake the fries on a baking sheet in a single layer until golden and crispy, about 25 minutes. Flip halfway for even cooking.

2. While fries bake, warm shredded chicken in a skillet over medium heat. Set aside once heated.

3. In a separate pan, cook bacon until crisp, then drain and crumble it.

4. To make the cheese sauce: Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in 2 tablespoons of flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in 1 cup of milk until thickened. Stir in 1 cup shredded cheddar until smooth.

5. Heat brown gravy according to package directions or until hot and pourable.

6. Assemble the dish: Layer crispy fries on a platter, top with chicken and cheese curds. Pour on hot gravy, then drizzle with cheese sauce. Finish with crumbled bacon and chopped green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use rotisserie chicken to save time and add flavor.

For extra crisp fries, use an air fryer or bake them slightly longer.

Substitute sweet potato fries for a twist on the classic flavor.
