Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chocolate chunks
1 scoop vanilla ice cream (optional)
1 pinch flaky sea salt (optional)
Instructions
1. Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
3. Add flour, baking soda, and salt; stir until dough forms.
4. Fold in the chocolate chunks evenly.
5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch cast iron skillet and press the dough into it.
6. Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden around the edges and soft in the center.
7. Remove from oven, top with ice cream and drizzle with chocolate if desired. Sprinkle flaky sea salt for contrast.
Notes
Do not overbake—slightly underdone makes it gooier.
You can prep the dough in advance and refrigerate it up to 24 hours.
Try mixing different chocolates (milk, dark, white) for flavor variation.
