Ingredients

1 can crescent roll dough

1/2 pound ground breakfast sausage

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups whole milk

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

4 large eggs

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll the crescent dough and press it into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, pressing seams together to form a crust.

2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage until fully cooked.

3. Sprinkle the flour over sausage and stir well. Slowly pour in milk while stirring to create gravy. Cook until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

4. Spread sausage gravy evenly over crescent crust.

5. Crack eggs directly on top of the gravy, spacing them apart.

6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar over the surface.

7. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until eggs are set and crust is golden.

8. Cool for 5 minutes, garnish with parsley, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

This recipe can easily be doubled for a crowd—just use a sheet pan.

For spicier flavor, use hot breakfast sausage and add crushed red pepper to the gravy.

Don’t overbake or the egg yolks may become too firm—watch closely in the last 5 minutes.
