Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1 small yellow onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp tomato paste
28 oz crushed tomatoes
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
15 oz ricotta cheese
1 egg
Pinch nutmeg
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
9 oven-ready lasagna noodles
Instructions
1. In a skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
2. Add onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
3. Stir in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 15–20 minutes.
4. In a bowl, mix ricotta with egg, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.
5. In a 9×13″ dish, spread sauce, then layer noodles, sauce, ricotta, mozzarella. Repeat layers, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan.
6. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes. Remove foil, bake 15–20 minutes more.
7. Let rest 15 minutes before slicing.
