Description

Start your snack cravings right with these golden, crispy Fried Cheese Stuffed Doritos—the ultimate comfort food with a bold, cheesy twist. With buttery bread pockets filled with cheddar and mozzarella, coated in crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos, and deep-fried to perfection, these are the kind of easy recipes that take your appetizer game to the next level. Perfect for parties, quick snacks, or cheesy food ideas, this is one of those easy recipes that belongs on your list of dinner ideas or snack table spreads.

Ingredients

6 slices white bread

3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

2 eggs

2 tablespoons milk

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos

Oil for frying (about 3 cups, for deep frying)

Instructions

1. Flatten the bread slices using a rolling pin until thin and pliable.

2. Place a mix of shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese in the center of each slice.

3. Fold into triangles and press the edges to seal tightly (dab with water if needed).

4. Freeze the sealed triangles for 30 minutes to firm up.

5. Prepare a breading station with three bowls: flour in the first, eggs whisked with milk in the second, and crushed Doritos in the third.

6. Coat each frozen triangle in flour, then egg wash, then Dorito crumbs.

7. For extra crunch, repeat the egg wash and crumb coating a second time.

8. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry 2-3 triangles at a time for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.

9. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with your favorite dip.

Notes

Freezing helps prevent cheese from leaking during frying. Don’t skip it!

Try different Dorito flavors for variety: Cool Ranch or Flamin’ Hot both work great.

Press edges well—use a fork or water for a tighter seal before freezing.
