Ingredients
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)
2 pounds steak (ribeye, sirloin, flank, or preferred cut)
Instructions
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, and black pepper until well combined.
2. Stir in chopped fresh rosemary or thyme, if using.
3. Place steak in a large zip-top bag or shallow dish and pour marinade over it. Seal and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 6 hours, depending on steak thickness.
4. Remove steak from the marinade, discard marinade, and let steak rest at room temperature for 15–20 minutes before cooking.
5. Grill, sear, or broil steak to your desired doneness. Let it rest before slicing and serving.
Notes
For the best flavor, marinate steaks for at least 4 hours, especially thicker cuts like ribeye.
Always discard used marinade or boil it for 5 minutes before repurposing as a sauce.
Let the steak rest 5–10 minutes after cooking to lock in juices before slicing.
