Ingredients
450g steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into 1-inch cubes
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
1. Pat the steak dry and cut it into 1-inch cubes. Set aside.
2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add cooking oil and sear steak cubes in batches for 1–2 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
3. Lower heat to medium and add garlic and ginger to the skillet. Sauté for 30 seconds.
4. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir to combine.
5. In a separate bowl, whisk cornstarch with water and pour into the sauce. Stir until thickened.
6. Return steak to skillet and toss to coat in the sticky sauce. Cook for 1–2 minutes.
7. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot.
Notes
For the best sear, work in batches and don’t crowd the pan.
Adjust spice by increasing or skipping the red pepper flakes.
Add a splash of water when reheating to loosen the glaze.
