Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup cranberries (fresh or frozen)
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon orange zest
1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
Instructions
1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine cranberries, honey, and orange zest. Stir occasionally and cook until cranberries burst and mixture thickens into a compote, about 6–8 minutes. Let it cool completely.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whip the softened butter until light and fluffy using a hand mixer or stand mixer (about 2–3 minutes).
3. Gently fold the cooled cranberry mixture into the whipped butter using a spoon or spatula. Swirl lightly—do not fully mix—to maintain a marbled effect.
4. Transfer to a serving bowl or airtight container. Chill for 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld. Serve at room temperature.
Notes
Let the cranberry compote cool fully before folding into the butter to prevent melting.
Use room temperature butter for best whipping results.
For a stronger citrus note, increase orange zest to 1.5 teaspoons.
