Description

Doritos Taco Casserole With Ground Beef is a cheesy, crunchy, flavor-packed easy dinner that turns taco night into pure comfort food. Made with seasoned ground beef, melty cheese, and bold nacho chips, this easy recipe is perfect for quick dinner nights, family meals, game day food ideas, and crowd-pleasing dinner ideas when you want something fun, hearty, and incredibly satisfying.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 packet taco seasoning

1 cup tomato sauce

4 cups Nacho Cheese Doritos, lightly crushed

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1 cup sour cream

1 cup diced tomatoes

2 green onions, sliced

2 tablespoons chopped cilantro

1 jalapeño, sliced

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain excess grease if needed.

3. Stir in the garlic, taco seasoning, and tomato sauce. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until the mixture is thickened and well combined.

4. Spread half of the crushed Doritos into the prepared baking dish.

5. Spoon half of the beef mixture evenly over the Doritos.

6. Sprinkle 1 cup cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup Monterey Jack cheese over the beef layer.

7. Add the remaining Doritos, then the rest of the beef mixture, and finish with the remaining cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese.

8. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

9. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes, then top with sour cream, diced tomatoes, green onions, cilantro, and jalapeño before serving.

Notes

Add the Doritos just before baking so they keep some crunch.

Use a thick salsa or tomato sauce mixture to prevent the casserole from becoming too soft.

Keep cold toppings separate until serving for the freshest flavor and texture.
