Ingredients
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder

3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1/4 cup eggnog
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 tablespoons eggnog
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Extra ground nutmeg for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg.
3. In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
4. Beat in the egg yolk, eggnog, and vanilla extract until smooth.
5. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
6. Scoop 1.5 tablespoon-sized dough balls and space them 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
8. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
9. For the frosting, beat cream cheese, butter, eggnog, and vanilla until smooth.
10. Add powdered sugar gradually and beat until creamy.
11. Frost cooled cookies and sprinkle with nutmeg. Enjoy!
