Description
Golden, glossy, and utterly addictive, these Quick Toffee Candied Walnuts are the kind of snack that disappears faster than you can say “homemade treat.” Crunchy walnut halves get coated in a buttery, brown sugar toffee glaze that hardens to a caramelized shell with rich, deep flavor. Perfect for topping salads, gifting during the holidays, or sneaking by the handful straight from the bowl. This quick and easy recipe is ideal for sweet snacks, healthy snack ideas, or adding a sweet crunch to your breakfast and dinner ideas.
Ingredients
2 cups walnut halves
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
2. In a medium nonstick skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar. Stir constantly until it becomes a bubbling toffee mixture, about 2–3 minutes.
3. Stir in vanilla extract, then immediately add the walnut halves. Stir well to coat them evenly in the toffee.
4. Cook for another 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly until nuts are glossy and coated.
5. Quickly transfer the mixture to the prepared sheet, spread out, and separate any clusters.
6. Let the walnuts cool completely.
7. Once cooled, break apart and store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
Perfect for holiday gifting or topping salads.
